Ruth has had a huge impact on a senior's experience at the River's Bend Senior Center. From the moment they enter the dining room with its colorful, cheerful decorations to the activities, Ruth has had an impact. She puts in many hours assisting with the decorations for each month's theme. Having served terms as a secretary or a treasurer, her effort can properly be described as support services. She purchases food for the Healthy Breakfast and meal supplements. She sought out special deals to get appropriate prizes for the bingo games as well as food for the night bingo events. Her skills in quilting and sewing were present in the Senior Center Art Show last September and last year's fund raisers.
When Ruth was asked to volunteer as a member of River's Bend Senior Center's Advisory Council, she remembered what her mother had taught her. Ruth learned as a child the joy of helping other people.
Ruth's service started at the Sunday Anderson Senior Center in Salt Lake City and transferred to the River's Bend Senior Center with its opening closer to her home. She has served the last 8 years with dedication to the interests of others.
