Saratoga Springs, NY
Nominated by Gary Ferris

American Red Cross

Length of Service:

30 hours per month for 26 years

Pat is a retired registered nurse who brings passion and compassion to her volunteer work with the American Red Cross. She handles a wide variety of volunteer tasks. Most notable, though, is her involvement with the chapter's disaster action team. As a registered nurse she is on call to work with families when they are at their most trying times: when they have lost everything in a fire. At any time of the day or night Pat is available to work with the families, their pharmacy, their physicians and their insurers to get prescription medications replaced so that they will not miss dosages in spite of the disasters they face. People helped by Pat benefit greatly from her care and compassion.
