Gloria became involved in the Advisory Council through another member. Gloria's passion is to serve seniors because she believes they have the right to age with dignity. Gloria has been Chair of the Council for 2 1/2 years and as Chair has led many senior activities. There are too many activities to list, but one of her favorites is CarFit (, which is a program that fits seniors to their cars so they can continue driving safely and comfortably. Gloria became a CarFit coordinator and she promotes the program throughout the county.

Gloria is also President of the Foundation on Aging. Gloria manages the books and promotes the organization through events, presentations, and appearances. As the leader of that organization Gloria has been instrumental in raising money to feed hungry seniors. Gloria coordinates an annual golf tournament and uses the proceeds to purchase gift cards to distribute to several hundred needy seniors at Christmas time. Last year the golf tournament raised $5000 and she raised an additional $15000 through campaigning for funds locally and donations.

In addition to these two organizations, Gloria collects clothes for women in La Vista Drug and Alcohol recovery program in Hemet, organizes an annual garage sale in her senior living community, is editor of the newsletter for the community, arranges presentations on various topics and with local elected officials for the community, and volunteers at the local senior center serving ice cream and other activities.

Gloria currently serves on a senior committee for the City of Menifee and is currently preparing to run for city council for the City of Menifee.

I have had the opportunity to meet with Gloria from time to time and her phone rings off the hook with requests for assistance. I am not sure when she gets time to sleep.
