Dot E.

Birdsboro, PA
Nominated by Patty Barker

Volunteered for:

Berks Encore Birdsboro Center

Length of Service:

25 hours per month for 20 years

January 26, 2014

Dot has been coming to the center in Birdsboro for over 20 years. She previously was a runner for the delivery of Meals & Wheels to the homebound, and helped in the kitchen. Dot took some time off and came back when I took over as manager of the center over two years ago. Dot is always lending a hand, no need to ask she just jumps right in. From serving snack's, to helping get other participants their meals, cleaning up the kitchen, calling bingo, even lending me a hand in the office. Her outgoing personality, contagious smile & energy are amazing. If anyone is having a bad day, even if she is, she will put that aside to boost the mood. Quick with one liner's to bring a smile to your face. Always the first to get up to sing & dance, and getting others involved. Dot has raised seven wonderful children & still has so much enthusiasm and compassion. She is like a mom to me. I am so blessed to have her, another angel sent to me. She is loved by all!!!
