Mrs. Doris Harris, exemplifies the true definition of a Volunteer. I met Mrs. Doris, in December of 2012, she was very excited to become an Alacare Volunteer. Mrs. Doris came into the office and she immediately made her self at home. She has become the" Mother Hen" to the entire Auburn Branch. She is very well respected in the office by all staff and gives her opinions quite often. Mrs. Doris loves to talk and has made it her position to be the " Tuck in Caller" for both Alexander City & Auburn branches. Not only, does she excel @ her best in the office , she also volunteers to help out in the community events as well as Health Fairs, Always putting Alacare's name above the rest. Mrs. Doris in my opinion, has definitely gone above and beyond her commitment as an Alacare Volunteer. The Auburn, branch was without a HIM Clerk and she volunteered to come into the office to answer the phones from 9:00a.m.-
5:00p.m. daily. She currently has been committed to reporting to Alacare, as if she was a paid employee. She has a total of 639.92 hours and also drives 60 miles round trip to give her continued support to the staff & our Hospice patients & families. I am very proud to nominate Mrs. Doris Harris, as a nominee for Salute to Senior Service Award. I hope that you will consider recognizing her, for the support that she gives to this great Hospice organization.
