2014 Winner

Huntsville, AL
Nominated by Lorraine Reed

Volunteered for:

The Greater Huntsville Humane Society

Length of Service:

80+ hours per month for 5 years

January 15, 2014

Betty Brumley in the past has worked for other animal service organizations throughout her volunteer career but states she has found her true calling with The Greater Huntsville Humane Society Thrift Store. Her limitless dedication to stocking the thrift store with sellable donated items has enabled the shelter to care for thousands of unwanted animals who have found or are awaiting their forever home. She states while the work can be tiresome it is also fun. The friendships that have been cultivated with others who have the same passion for animals is rewarding for her. She has been named on several different occasions "Volunteer of the Year" because she has consistently shown an irreplaceable spot in our organization. We love and honor this volunteer, she is one in a million and deserves the distinction that this award offers.
