Fargo, ND
Nominated by Georgia Dufault

Volunteered for:

HERO, Healthcare Equipment Recycling Organization

Length of Service:

70 hours per month for 4 years

February 26, 2014

Sara Larson was introduced to HERO about four years ago by a friend and fellow volunteer. Sara began by volunteering two hours a week each Wednesday. This soon turned into a "second career" and she is often here multiple days a week, providing 16 to 20 hours of service. Sara has not only become a staple in our warehouse, cleaning and sorting equipment, but a friendly face at our front desk. Sara is one of our star customer service representatives in our retail center. Sara also took on the large project of organizing and updating the policies and procedures for HERO operations. As Sara says, "I do pretty much anything else I am asked to do." Sara also serves as a volunteer on the HERO board of directors and this past year as the secretary. Sara helps out wherever she can and even took on becoming co-chair of the HERO Bash fundraising event committee. Sara believes so much in the mission of HERO and the vision of our organization that she has made generous financial donations. Sara says she cannot imagine a better volunteer fit for her. We at HERO cannot imagine a better volunteer.
