Alice has been volunteering for the Arthritis Foundation for more than 30 years.
Her involvement with the Arthritis Foundation was due to the impact arthritis has had in her personal life. Alice enjoys helping people. She is the first person you see when you come into the office, answering phone calls, handling literature orders, coordinating volunteers for various projects. Alice attends Health & Wellness events representing the Arthritis Foundation, helps with registration at different events, serves on committees for Juvenile Arthritis Family events. Children just gravitate to her with her warm smile and engaging personality. Everyone who comes in contact with Alice appreciates all she does from physicians and their staff members, members with arthritis, children with arthritis and their families and the Arthritis Foundation staff. Alice has served as a Board Member for many years and is presently on the Leadership Council.
Alice has been honored by the Arthritis Foundation with a Volunteer of the Year Award.The United Way of the Capital Region has recognized Alice with their Volunteer of the Year award. As a retired school principal, Alice has been commended with a Volunteer of the Year award by the PA Association of School Retirees. Also, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors has honored Alice with both the local Central PA and the State of PA Humanitarian of the Year award.
Arthritis Today magazine had an article about Alice, at age 79 years young, completing a half-marathon in Australia as part of the Arthritis Foundation, Central PA Joints In Motion team.
Alice's motto is " Keep going " and that is what she does keeps going.
Alice is an inspiration to all.
